Applying Banner Styles in Totara

The Featured Links block is a flexible tool commonly used to display banners on Totara dashboards. By assigning a Manual ID to this block, Hubken themes can apply one of six available banner styles. 

How to Add a Banner to a Dashboard and Apply a Theme

 

  1. Navigate to the desired dashboard and enable block editing.
  2. Click the "+" icon to add a block, then select Featured Links.
  3. Click Configure Featured Links block.
  4. Under Custom block settings:
    1. Choose your preferred Tile size.
    2. Set Tile shape to Full width.
    3. In the Manual ID field, enter a value from banner-1 to banner-6, depending on the desired style.
  5. Review all settings and Save your changes.
  6. Click Add tile.
  7. Expand the Text settings section:
    1. Enter a Title.
    2. Provide a Description.
    3. Choose the Heading location.
  8. Expand the Background section:
    1. Upload an image for the background.
    2. Add Alternative text for accessibility.
    3. Select a Background colour.
  9. Review all settings and Save your changes.
